New Family Member

I guess it's time to add another few tid-bits.
October swept by in no time. It didn't help that we were so busy being up at This Is The Place Heritage Park for Haunted Village the majority of the month. Dad was involved too. Mom came up with us during the day for Lil' haunts. We had a lot of fun with that as well, but our fingers sure hurt after 3 days of it. We made corn husk dolls or rather showed the kids how to make them. We had a great time! The evening were more fun, however. We had the youth from our ward go up one night and they LOVED it.

We all would meet in the basement of the Deseret Hospital to get changed, make-up and await our assigned positions. That's dad just making his way in and having a seat. Don't ya just love his "up-do"? He hid out most of the time in the corn maze. Dad had the most votes for being the best/scariest character through the duration of the Haunted Village and therefore won the contest, receiving an Ipod. YEAH ED!! Trev is standing at my post. The exit gate. There I am in all my pioneer-ish glory and hoop skirt. That was my post the majority of the time, which was great!! People didn't know if I was gonna scare them or just talk to them and take their wristbands. It was fun to see them coming running for the exit while being chased by another creepy character and to listen to their comments. Yeah, the intoxicated ones were the best! "Thanks for coming and here's a breath mint." Other times I was at Brigham's farmhouse, scaring people (that was the best!! hehehe), or hidden in the outhouse looking storage shed. This place was also great!! I scared A LOT of big macho GUYS in both places!!! It was all I could do to not laugh and stay in character when I heard these guys scream and run away. It was great to hear the comments from the guests and names they gave dad. I think the best would have to be the deranged Santa Claus or the yum-yum guy. David came away with some unusual ones as well. Indiana Jones, Cowboy Joe and the best was...Garth Brooks. All in all we had a fun time and are now looking forward to Candlelight Christmas up there. Starting the day after Thanksgiving.
Well.... we have added a new member to our little family. We'd like to introduce...
!!! DAEZI !!!

Isn't she sweet?! We took Koda along when we went to have a look at her and he seemed to like her. So we took her home. Koda is VERY protective of her. Here's some fun pictures of them.

She's been alot of fun. The first 3 or 4 nights she kept both David and I up. Good thing David was off work for those days. She's starting to show off her own personality. :)

Where does the time go?

Time flies when you wonder what having fun is all about.
A lot has gone on since the last post. Yeap, we're still unpacking and going through boxes. You know the drill... do ya keep it or do ya chuck it? Decisions decisions!
Trevor is off to a good start in a new school. The first day was hard, but that's to be expected. He was all smiles when I picked him up from school and has been ever since. That's a relief off my mind. The first parent teacher conferences are coming up. Never have liked those things, but oh well. What can ya do?

For Labor day weekend we decided to invade Moab and the Arches. We were bound and determined to hike up to Delicate Arch and by darn we did it! We hiked it in an hour and back down in an hour. Gorgeous and picturesque! It was a hard hike and boy did we feel it after, but it was all worth it. We hiked a few of the smaller hikes and got some nice pictures. Have to share those later too.
I celebrated the anniversary of my birthday, as dad would say... cause you only get ONE birthday. (Katie and I share the same b-day so Happy Belated, Cuz!!) In our little family, it's your day to choose what you want to do for your birthday and what you want for dinner etc. Well, my wish was to see Les Miserables at the Tuacahn. I had never seen it. We did go and I enjoyed it thoroughly!! Such power in the music! WOW!! It was incredible and yes, there were tears! We were able to meet most of the actors and Trevor had them all sign his program. He thought that was pretty cool.
I can't believe how fast this month has flown. We're getting ready to do some scaring and what not up at This is The Place Heritage Park. The three of us and possibly dad are participating in the Haunted Village up there again this year. We are soooo excited! What's great about it is that a lot of the houses up there are REALLY haunted. Believe me...I had my own experiences up there!! I'm looking forward to this Fall and Winter's activities, since I didn't get to work or spend any time up there during the summer because of my schooling. Come up and see us! It starts Oct. 10. Ask Katie about it... she and a friend were there last year!

David is on his way to California right about now, along with dad. Something with their camera surveillance biz. They won't be gone too long, but I still hate it when he goes out of town. So if you're bored and can't sleep at 3 a.m. you can call me cause I won't be sleeping. Hahahaha
Have a lovely, everyone!!!

Recent activities: Moving and bowling

Woa, it's the second post. Don't fall over just yet. =0)
We've had a lot going on since the last post.... Mostly moving stuff from my mom and dad's to our new place.
Let's see what has transpired. Well, as I said, a lot of moving stuff. We've had a lot of help with moving our lovely crap from family and friends. We so appreciate it!! You all are awesome!
Before I go on; this is our new home for the time being. It's cute and has a nice yard. When you walk in... put it this way; if you've ever been to my mom and dad's place (Ed & Heidi), which I'm sure most, if not all, of you family members have, feels like you're walking into their house, but on a smaller scale.

I will show some before and afters of the rooms we've done, but that will come at a later time. In the last post I mentioned we had gone bowling for Trev's b-day. We had a lot of fun. I know I had a lot of fun beating David. Hahahaha He has assured me we are going to have a rematch. Anyway, we went to Fat Cats as per Trev's request.

Trev taking a quick pose before he takes his turn.

The alley... The pins...

The bowler... The ball...
The release... The gutter...
It took him a few tries, but he managed to get a pretty good score for not bowling for a long time. The main thing is that he had fun doing what he wanted to do for his birthday and that was accomplished. =0)

Dad giving him a few pointers.

The release and...

STRIKE!!!!
He was pretty lucky the rest of the night with the way the pins fell. Between turns, David and I would disappear and just before we started the second game we brought over a surprise for "T".

GAME OVER!!

Better late than never

GREETINGS AND HALLUCINATIONS!!
Yes, the night owl, aka Hollie, lurks and in the weeeeee hours of morning( or should I say WAAAY late at night) decides to start blogging. I pick the craziest times to do things, I think.
This isn't going to be a very interesting first post, but I thought if I don't start something now I may never start at all. Letting my HUGE wonderful family know I have enjoyed reading your blogs etc. and finding out what you're all up to. Seeing all your pictures makes me miss y'all more!
I was telling Aunt Linda in an e-mail earlier 'That I am so far out of the loop everyone must think I have fallen off the earth or taken up residence on the moon.... or better yet, Pluto.

I will have pictures as soon as we are somewhat settled in our new(new to us) place.
Trevor turned 14 today. With it being his day, our little family went out and did what he chose to do to celebrate. BOWLING!!!!
Have you ever worried that as you swing that ball back in preparation to send it sailing down the alley with a THUD; it slips from your fingers and lands behind you??
We all got a good laugh as that happened to Trevor, landing ooooh sooo closely in front of me. Nothing like having a perma-dent in your forehead or rather the fear of that. hahaha
End all result: We had a good time in the company of each other and Trevor walked out with a bowling pin with his name and Happy Birthday on it. And me.... still can't believe I have a 14 year old. Aaahh!!! But ya gotta love my Mister 'T' !
